ITINERARY
Day 1 : Arrive Dibrugarh ex-Kolkata. Received at the airport and transfer to a heritage Chang Bungalow (14kms/30mins) in the midst of a rolling tea garden. After lunch we take you for a tea tour around a tea estate to learn all about tea its origin, how it is grown and all about tea tasting and quality. Evening join in a dance performance by an ethnic Assamese Bihu dance group in the bungalow lawns. Overnight at the Bungalows.Day 2 : After breakfast we drive to the river front to take a boat cruise in the mighty Brahmaputra river to Rukmini Island a river island resort with a well established camp. Enjoy water sports like kayaking and ski boarding and take a parasailing launch. Camp fire in the evening. Overnight at the island.
Day 3 : Early morning take a sunrise cruise in the Brahmaputra enjoy birdwatching. Look for the rare Gangetic River Dolphins. After breakfast take a nature walk around the island. Watch the lovely sunset in the evening. Overnight at the island.
Day 4 : After breakfast depart for the mainland. Early Lunch at the Chang Bungalow. After lunch depart for Sibsagar (80kms/2h). See the Ahom Monuments and Temples the 600 year old history of the Ahom Dynasty that ruled Assam. Return to Dibrugarh in the evening. Overnight at the Bungalows.
Day 5 : Depart for onward destination.

Overnight at a forest lodge.
Day 5 : Early morning Elephant safari in the park followed by a jeep safari after breakfast to the western range of the park. Depart after lunch for Shillong (314kms/6h). Reach late evening. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 6 : Day trip to Cherrapunjee (54Kms/2h) the heaviest rainfall area. Magnificient drive with beautiful view of the rolling hills. Return to Shillong in the afternoon. Evening take a walking tour around the womens market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Depart for Guwahati (104Kms/2h) to board flight to onward destination.
