Day 1 ARRIVE DIMAPUR
The
gateway to Nagaland is the commercial center of the state. It is cosmopolitan
and one of the fastest growing cities in the North east. Dimapur is the only
airport and railway connecting Nagaland with the rest of the country. At Dimapur,
we will show you the ancient ruins of Kachari Kingdom which were established,
before AHOM invasions in the 13th century. Overnight.
Day 2 DIMAPUR/KOHIMA/DZUKOU VALLEY
Proceed to Kohima (74 kms, 2-3 hrs drive). Proceed to Dzukou walk (24 kms).
Camp at Dzukou. Overnight.
Day 3 DZUKOU VALLEY
Full day explore Dzukou valley. This valley is a place of Solace and
transquility and provides atmosphere for all tracker seeking quiet and solitude.
Here you completely at peace with nature. Overnight.
Day 4 DUKOU/KOHIMA
Proceed to Kohima. Overnight.
Day 5 & KOHIMA
Day
6 At Kohima the capital city of Nagaland, we show you the diversity in dresses,
custom, languages and traditions of the Angamis, Chakhesangs, Zeliangs, Rengmas
and so on.
Your local guide will take you The famous World War II Cemetary which has its
place in the world history and allies last post. It was here that the Jhapanese
invasions was stopped thereby changing the whole scenario in Asian Frontier. The
state museum for an overview of tribal lifestyle. The handloom and handicraft
sales emporium for its fine collection. The Cathedral an important landmark of
Kohima, the crucific inside the Cathedral craved out from the wood is the
largest in India.
Day 7 KOHIMA/VISWEMA/ZAKHAMA/KIGWEMA/KOHIMA
We
take you to tribal villages for their habitats, shopping, explain tradition and
customs show you traditional attires, demonstrate their dishes and cooking
styles, show how they practice agro forestry, make handicrafts, handlooms etc.
Day 8 KOHIMA
Dzulekie – its idyllic and pristine surroundings provide the right seeting
for river sight for camping and picnic. An interesting feature of Dzulekie River
is that it flows through a deep and extremely narrow gorge making it look, as
if, the river has gone underground at places. On the way back to Khonoma
villages (20 kms west of Kohima) provides an opportunity to see local lifestyle
and meet people. This village fought a pitched battle against the Britishers who
came on an expedition to the Naga hills in Oct, 1879.
Day 9 KOHIMA/CHIECHAMA/KOHIMA
We
take you to Christmas feast at Chiechama village (X’mas days only). Overnight.
Day 10 KOHIMA
Attend the colourful festival of Zeliang Nga Ngai.
Day 11 KOHIMA/DIMAPUR/ONWARD DESTINATION
Direct transfer to Dimapur airport to connect flight for onward destination.
